Meet Logan Cunningham
About Logan Cunningham
Logan Cunningham is a lifelong Lowcountry resident, a committed public servant, and the youngest person ever elected to Beaufort County Council. For nearly twenty years, the Lowcountry has been Logan’s home—shaping his values, his work ethic, and his dedication to serving the community.
Logan grew up in a family that emphasized service and responsibility. After losing his mother at 15, he was guided by the example of his step-father, a small-business owner on Hilton Head Island who instilled in him the value of hard work, independence, and community involvement. During this period, Logan’s faith became a central part of his life, grounding his approach to challenges and decision-making.
A graduate of Hilton Head Christian Academy, Logan went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of South Carolina Beaufort. He spent several years in the classroom as an elementary school teacher, giving him firsthand insight into the needs of students, families, and educators. His experience working directly with young people led him to become increasingly engaged in public policy and education reform.
As national conversations around economic growth, border security, and constitutional rights intensified, Logan became more active in public service. In 2020, he ran for Beaufort County Council and was elected to represent District 7. On Council, he has supported initiatives to lower taxes, protect the area’s natural resources, raise teacher pay, and manage growth responsibly. His work on the Green Space Referendum and his advocacy for transparency in local government reflect his commitment to preserving the character and quality of life that define the Lowcountry.
Logan’s decision to seek election to South Carolina’s 1st Congressional District is rooted in his long-standing involvement in the community and his desire to address issues that affect families across the region. His background in education, experience in local government, and connection to the Lowcountry inform his focus on topics such as economic stability, responsible development, public safety, and access to opportunity.
Whether serving in the classroom, engaging with residents across Beaufort County, or participating in community initiatives, Logan’s approach has consistently been grounded in listening, collaboration, and a commitment to public service.
